Luxury Self Catering Home - Queensferry, Edinburgh
Relax by the Firth of Forth
Three Bridges House is a unique refurbished house in South Queensferry, overlooking the Firth of Forth and 20 minutes by train from central Edinburgh. The house is simultaneously welcoming, spacious and cosy. It lies less than 8 miles from Edinburgh Airport, is around a mile from the motorway network, giving great connections to the whole of Scotland. South Queensferry is an historic trading and fishing port. With its twisty High Street, quirky shops and a fine selection of restaurants, cafes and bars it's a great place to visit in its own right and a convenient base for Edinburgh and the rest of Scotland.
The house is a truly unique space, converted from part of the accommodation for the engineers supervising the construction of the Unesco World Heritage railway bridge. The bridge, crossing the Forth estuary, had the world’s longest spans (541 m) when it opened in 1890.
There are two comfy double bedrooms, a magnificent lounge with vaulted ceiling. In the corner is a stone fireplace with wood burning stove. There is a luxury bathroom with bath, shower and full laundry facilities. On the upper gallery level lies a fully fitted modern dining kitchen, with steps to a private roof terrace. This terrace overlooks the ever-active tidal waters of the Forth, and all three bridges – the heritage rail bridge (still a key part of the rail network), and the two road bridges one of which was only recently completed.
